Why is the project needed?

Between 400,000 - 1,000,000 tonnes of textiles are land filled in the UK each year (various sources). It is estimated that up to 95% of these textiles could be recycled (Recycling Association 1995)

Research has confirmed the availability of waste cotton fibres and other textile waste in the Yorkshire and Humber area and the market location in the UK and Europe for this type of insulation product.
